Local route logic

Clear proposal

3 days · Fes · Long driving days through the Middle Atlas, softened by good stops

The desert as an extension of Fes: south through cedar forests and the palm-lined Ziz Valley to Erg Chebbi, a night at camp, and back — three days that change the shape of a city-based trip.

Route overview

Fes → Middle Atlas → Ziz Valley → Merzouga → Fes Full days

Day by day

A realistic outline — long days are labelled as long days. The final version is adjusted to your dates and pace.

Day 1 · Fes to Merzouga

South through Ifrane and the cedar forests (Barbary macaques included), then down the Ziz Valley to the dunes.

Day 2 · Sahara day and desert camp

Villages and nomad country around Merzouga, then camels into the dunes for sunset and a night at camp.

Day 3 · Return to Fes

Sunrise in the dunes, breakfast at camp, and the return road north, arriving in Fes by evening.

FAQs about the 3-Day Fes Sahara tour

Is three days from Fes too rushed? It’s a full route, not a rushed one, but it does mean two demanding driving days either side of the desert night. If you’d rather spread the driving out, a longer route gives more breathing room.

Is a desert camp included? The route includes a camp night. Confirm the standard and inclusions in your written proposal.

Can I start this route from Marrakech instead? There’s a separate 3-Day Sahara route starting from Marrakech — the two use different roads to reach the same dunes. Tell the team your arrival city and they’ll point you to the right one.
